Lengthening Temporalis Myoplasty

Lengthening Temporalis Myoplasty is a technique perfected in 1997 by Dr Daniel Labbé, a plastic surgeon at the CHU hospital in Caen, which improves facial elasticity after complete or partial paralysis of facial muscles. This operation transfers the entire temporalis muscle to the upper lip without aponeurosis interposition. In order to make each stage of muscular reconstruction understandable and clearly differentiated, 3Dmedicus integrated 3D imagery created from photos taken in the operating room. Post-production work enabled us to simulate the stages of functional reeducation (speech and physical therapy), a process which in the end literally returns a smile to the patient’s face.
